The Delta Police Pipe Band is mourning the untimely death of our first Drum Major, Robert Burns: August 14, 1942 - July 7th, 2017.
Bob had both military and police careers. He served with the Queen’s Own Rifles (regular force)…
WELCOME !!
The Delta Police Pipe Band was formed in 1971 by members of the Delta Police Department in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. Since the Band's inception, it has grown to its present strength of 30 pipers and 20 drummers. The Band is currently under the direction of Pipe Major Steve Ramsden and Drum Major Moe Coll. The band uniform is complemented by the Ancient Smith Tartan, worn in honour of the Band's cofounder, the late Chief Constable M.W.Smith. The band proudly represents the Delta Police Department and the Corporation of Delta, at home and around the world.
JOIN OUR BAND
The Delta Police Pipe Band is interested in recruiting capable pipers and side drummers who want to enjoy a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere which includes parades, concerts and domestic and international tattoos. Civilians are very welcome to join us as only about 20% of the members of the band are serving or retired police officers. We practice one night a week (Thursday) for two hours at the Sacred Heart Elementary School in Ladner, B.C. If you are, or were, a pipe band player who enjoys camaraderie, teamwork and a more relaxed band life we would like to meet you.
